LEADING THE CHEMICAL COMMUNITY IN ISRAEL

since 1933

Medicinal Chemistry Section

The Israel Association for Medicinal Chemistry (IAMC)

was founded in 1991, and following its becoming a section of the Israel Chemical Society (ICS) in 2004, it was renamed as the Medicinal Chemistry Section of the Israel Chemical Society (MCS-ICS). The MCS-ICS builds an interdisciplinary bridge between chemistry, biology, medicine and pharmacy by organizing and fostering the interaction between medicinal chemists in academia, industry and drug dispensing institutions, in an independent association devoted to education, research and development of medicinal chemistry through meetings and workshops. The MCS-ICS is a National Adhering Organization of the European Federation of Medicinal chemistry (EFMC), participates in various activities within this organization, and sustains strong links with other member scientific societies.

The society’s aims are:

  • To hold symposia and annual scientific meetings.
  • To promote symposia on new vistas in drug research.
  • To conduct workshops on progress in instrumental drug analysis.
  • To represent the association at the EFMC and related international bodies.
